I am an associate professor of meteorology at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana. I received my BSc and PhD at University of Ljubljana and collaborate with international institutions such as National Centre for Atmospheric Research, USA and UK Met Office.

My main research focus is precipitation. This includes ground and satellite based detection of precipitation, analysis of precipitation processes, precipitation interpolation, precipitation forecasting using a numerical weather prediction model, development of novel methods for verifying forecasted precipitation and radar based detection of hail. My other research topics include study of cold air pools, regional climate modelling and tropical cyclones.
