The Meteorology group at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana is carrying out the only undergraduate and graduate meteorology program in Slovenia. The undergraduate program is a part of the Department of Physics 3-year BSc educational programs and gives a BSc degree in meteorology with geophysics. Master and doctorate programs in meteorology are carried out during two and three, respectively years of additional meteorology training. (more about studies).
The research areas include atmospheric dynamics on various scales, coupled chemical-dynamical modelling in complex terrain, precipitation measurements by satellites and modelling, data assimilation and regional climate modelling. Reserach activities include close collaboration with Slovenian weather service and extensive collaborations in Europe and worldwide (more about research).
